The most important thing in S/C is that it is a very precise embouchure with the focus on jaw position. BE is a set of exercises to develop your embouchure in a very personal way.S/C requires to move your jaw forward which has nothing to do with BE. It is possible that you end up the same but if not, there is not a problem.

Van Laar

Bert Lochs plays a Van Laar B8 trumpet and a van Laar B2 flugel. A customized Curry 10.5C trumpet mouthpiece and a self designed piece on his flugelhorn. Both pieces share a sixties (Ratzenberger) Jettone rim.

Lochs a nimble and dexterous trumpet player, who reveals his virtuosity mainly in the moulding of his sound - hence the title of his cd. He is a man who truly knows how to make his flugelhorn sizzle, instead of just using the instrument for ballads.
