Bert Lochs plays a Van Laar B8 trumpet and a van Laar B2 flugel. A customized Curry 10.5C trumpet mouthpiece and a self designed piece on his flugelhorn. Both pieces share a sixties (Ratzenberger) Jettone rim.
Reviews
Lochs a nimble and dexterous trumpet player, who reveals his virtuosity mainly in the moulding of his sound - hence the title of his cd. He is a man who truly knows how to make his flugelhorn sizzle, instead of just using the instrument for ballads. In Florian Zenker and Jasper Somsen he found his perfect sparring-partners: they completely follow the broad spectrum of atmospheres, rhythms and melodies Bert Lochs wishes to unleash upon the world.
